East River FFA Chapter
I’m Madelyn Jones, and I am so grateful to serve as your Orange County Federation President for the 2025–2026 year!
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." - Colossians 3:23
I’m a junior at East River High School and currently serve as President of our FFA Chapter. This marks my sixth year in FFA, my sixth year as an officer, and my second year serving at the federation level. From day one, this organization has shaped me, but more importantly, it's given me countless opportunities to serve others and share the love of Jesus through leadership, agriculture, and connection.
Outside of the blue jacket, you’ll find me active in Camo n' Critters 4-H, singing with the East River Choir, repping the Wandering Maverick Boutique, and sharing my love for agriculture through vet science, livestock, and public speaking.
My hope this year is to be a light in this county. To encourage others and help every member find where they belong. I can't wait to build authentic relationships with each of you and see how God works in our community this year!
Let’s make it one to remember!
Beef Production
This SAE is rooted in one of my biggest passions; raising and producing quality cattle. Through my Brangus breeding heifer program, I manage genetics, nutrition, health care, and long-term herd planning to produce strong, show-quality livestock. I also show market steers, which allows me to connect with buyers, judges, and members across the nation. My goal with this SAE is to raise animals that younger members, especially my little sisters, can one day learn from.
Vet Science
This SAE is all about getting real-world experience in the veterinary field. I’ve had the opportunity to visit multiple ranches across Florida where I serve as an "intern" for the day. I assist ranchers and veterinarians, especially during artificial insemination procedures (my favorite), which ties directly into my goal of becoming a specialist in bovine AI and embryology. These experiences have shown me what servant leadership looks like: being willing to do the hard work, ask the right questions, and serve with heart.
Social Media Internship
Through this placement SAE, I work with Silent Star Farms and EarthCare Industries; a unique blend of agriculture and agribusiness. I manage their websites and social media platforms, create content that shares their story, and help out wherever needed. Whether I’m behind a screen or out in the field, I get to witness the beauty of stewardship and the connection between land, livestock, and leadership.
Sow, Reap, Grow!
This SAE allows me to pour into the next generation of agriculturists. Through "Sow, Reap, Grow!" I visit and work with elementary and middle school students to teach about agriculture. Whether I’m leading a hands-on lesson, sharing a story, or just connecting with students, I love being able to show young people that they have a place in agriculture, no matter where they come from. I’m proud to represent Wandering Maverick Boutique as a brand ambassador! WMB is a company that doesn’t just sell clothes, but AGvocates through bold designs and a strong social media presence, they spark conversations and spread awareness about the industry that feeds and fuels us. As someone passionate about bridging the gap between consumers and agriculture, being part of a brand that shares this mission allows me to advocate in style, whether I’m in the pasture or the classroom.
