Marissa Romeu

Hey Orange County! My name is Marissa Romeu and I’m currently serving as your 2023-2024 Reporter!
I am a rising Junior at West Orange High School and this will be my 5th year in FFA. During these 5 years, I have participated in a variety of CDEs, from plants to animals! My favorite CDE currently is Food Science and I have the honor to compete with it at Nationals this year! My other favorites are Vet Science and Prepared Public Speaking. Showing animals is one of my other passions in FFA! I am a small Mini Rex rabbit breeder, as well as a beef exhibitor! My main SAE currently is an agriscience research project which consists of comparing the dairy industry and the impacts of plant-based alternatives.
Outside of FFA, I enjoy either staying inside curled up with a nice book or shopping anywhere and everywhere with my friends and family! (Target, Flea Markets, Thrift stores, Marshalls, you name it!) I also love baking, traveling, bike riding, and a die-hard Disney Fan!
In the future, I plan on going to college to become a Nurse Anesthetist,  eventually owning and operating a cattle operation!
I am beyond pumped for this amazing year! I cannot wait to see old friends, meet new faces, and all around have a Federation year for the books!

"But it ain't how hard you hit, it's how hard you can hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward."

Advocating for Agriculture

It has been a goal of mine since the end of 7th grade to set up a 4H club for the West Orange area, and this year marks the first year that goal has become a reality! It has always been a passion of mine to teach agriculture to younger generations, before the 6th grade in hopes of sparking their interest and passion for this amazing industry at a younger age! I am the co-founder of West Orange County 4H and we will specialize in showing the many aspects of agriculture, from livestock to different community service opportunities and industry tours, to elementary students and middle school students who do not have the opportunity to be in FFA!

Athletic Training

If not in the FFA classroom or working with my heifer, you can find me and my medical kit on the fields of West Orange High School as a student athletic trainer!

Throughout the year, I have this unique opportunity to work closely with our student-athletes, from performing quick wound care in the middle of a game to applying turf tape, Athletic training has definitely become a home away from home!
