President

Melanie Smith

I am Melanie Smith from the Ocoee High School FFA Chapter, and this year I will be serving as the Orange County FFA Federation President! I am going into the 12th grade, and my 7th year in FFA. I love all things livestock, as I have shown chickens, turkeys, goats, sheep, and now the chapter steer! This year I am ecstatic to serve Orange County FFA members to the best of my ability. I compete in public speaking and other career development events throughout the year, and I can't wait to see all of our members at competitions! I am also very excited to serve members as the District VII FFA President!

Livestock

Livestock has had an incredibly large impact on my FFA career and on my life as a whole.  I've owned a flock of thirty chickens, raised 4 turkeys, 12 goats, 5 lambs, and now the chapter steer. You can find me at the Florida State Fair, Central Florida Fair, and at jackpot shows throughout the state. In the future I hope to become a Livestock Embryologist and continue to support livestock and the agriculture industry. I am excited to see all members grow as showmen!

Agriculture

With a growing population, it is the FFA members within our county that will solve the world-renowned issue of how we will feed our world in the future. Agriculture is the backbone of the community, country, and world. With lifestyles being so urban in Orange County, watching the young agriculturists create "more with less," is nothing short from inspiring. The world relies on us FFA members, and I can't wait to see the future of agriculture. #AGvocate
